Teething Rash

teething babyIf there was ever a simple invention that is world saving in a mothers eyes, it’s the teething ring. They come in all different shapes, sizes, colours and sometimes-even tastes. You could most probably find one in the form of a favourite cartoon character, which will go down well with the little ones.

A baby will get great comfort when teething in chewing on a teething ring.

All they do is bite into it and it sooths painful areas that are sore for your child. It is a fact that babies need and like to bit, that’s why a teething ring is a wonderful solution when babies start to teeth.

The really good teething rings are designed to be chilled inside a refrigerator. All you do is chuck them in the fridge for a few hours and let them cool, when you take them out give it straight to your baby to put in their mouth and bite.

One thing to never do is to dip your teething ring into a fruit juice or similar, this can cause erosion and decay on the babies developing teeth before they have even had a chance to develop properly.

Always ensure that the teething ring is clean before you give it to your baby to put in their mouth. With their gums being broken by their first teeth appearing it can easily get infected. Another point to mention is to never tie a teething ring around your baby’s neck as this could get caught and strangle the baby.

I always try to avoid the teething rings that come with liquid inside. I am terrified of what would happen if the casing broke or tore when my baby is biting on it. Little ones have very powerful jaws and could break a teething aid with a hard enough bite. Try to get a rubber one or if you are short of money, put a clean wash cloth inside the freezer for 25 minutes, don’t let it get rock hard, just nicely chilled and give it to your baby to chew on and supervise them.

You can purchase a good teething ring at any good mother & baby store, there are plenty of places online that will ship direct to your door.
