Teething Biscuits

teething babyThere are many aids you can get for teething children. Ranging from teething toys to teething foods. A popular teething food amongst parents is teething biscuits.

 

Recipe for teething biscuits:

 

  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 2 ¼ cups of flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs

 

First beat the eggs in a bowl until they turn frothy. Add the sugar and the flour and mix well together. Roll into sticks or rings or whatever takes to your imagination and make them about ¼ of an inch deep. Put them on a greased sheet and let them stand over night. In the morning bake them in an oven at 325 for around 25 – 30 minutes until they are hard and dry. Let them cool and serve to your child.

You can buy many different teething biscuits from your local stores so if you don’t want to make your own you can go and buy them. Lots of parents recommend ‘Earth’s Best Wheat Teething Biscuits’ which are made from all natural ingredients.

This next remedy substitutes the sugar for honey. If you child does not take to the first teething biscuit remedy try this one.

Teething Biscuit recipe

  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of wheat germ
  • 1 tablespoon of soy flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of non fat dry milk
  • ¾ cups of whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons of molasses
  • 1 egg

 

Preheat your over to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, crack the egg and stir with the molasses, vanilla and honey. Next add the whole wheat flour, soy flour, wheat germ and the dry milk to the mixture and stir until it forms a smooth dough. Roll the dough out to ¼ of an inch deep and cut into strips. Put the strips on a greased sheet and bake in the over for 15 minutes until they are firm. Lastly cool them at room temperatue and serve.
